Over the past few weeks I have been hearing a lot of people talking about the Tangle Teezer, the brush that claims to “detangle with minimum fuss, breakage and damage”.
I am A Leo and I love my hair. Its naturally blonde, its straight, its shiny, its thick and…oh wait, that was BEFORE Graves!
About a month after I got out of hospital my hair started to fall out. I don’t mean just bits here and there, it fell out in handfuls.
I went into a complete panic, I could feel it getting thinner by the day and I did not know how to stop it. Some say it was due to the medication, some say it was the shock and others say it was due to the starvation and generally poor state of my body. Me, I think it was a combination of all of these things.
But whatever the cause I was not happy.
Eventually it stopped falling out but it was thin and fluffy and it took a while to start growing back in. When it did grow it was as if I had someone else’s hair, it was fine – like baby hair – and when it did eventually grow back its wavy and frizzy and just a complete nightmare to deal with.
Let me tell you, struggling with temperature control does not help your hair – AT ALL!
So all told my appearance fluctuated between a mad professor and a greasy haired hippy – neither of which were looks I was enamoured by.
Fast forward to 2017 and I have hair again, its thick and sometimes it shines. My blondness has become a little less blonde and a little more brown and I have waves which I still have no idea how to manage.
What I have done is changed shampoos (numerous times!) and ended with a shampoo that has no parabans or sulphates and it seems to be doing the trick.
Now I have found the Tangle Teazer, and I have been informed by those who have been converted that it has stopped their hair loss and returned a certain sheen to their locks.
Will it eradicate the waves? I doubt it but if it does all the other stuff I will be one happy girl.
I plan to use it exclusively for a month and make a judgement, so do stay tuned and I will give you my verdict.
In the meantime it has been duly sniffed and scrutinised by the ever concerned Arthur the cat (also know as being a nosy cat who misses nothing).
